Wallslough Village Self-catering Holiday Cottages, Kilkenny

Just 5 km south of the beautiful medieval city of Kilkenny you will find the unique Wallslough Village holiday cottages. This luxury, four star, award–winning thatched cottage village is set in an idyllic, tranquil and rural setting with wonderful views of the Kilkenny countryside.

Wallslough Village is owned by the Hughes and Brennan families who have lived in this area for generations. “We are very passionate about this beautiful location, take great personal pride in our holiday village, which we have created and, living on the doorstep, we are able to provide a warm and personal service to all our guests”.

There are eight cottages on site including:

• Six thatched detached holiday cottages with three bedrooms, each sleeping six people.


• Two meticulously renovated pre-famine stone cottages, semi-detached, also with three bedrooms, each sleeping seven people. These cottages are also wheelchair accessible on the ground floor with a wheelchair accessible ensuite shower room attached to a twin room.

The holiday cottages are ideal for family holidays with no shortage of family activities available in Kilkenny city and county. Accommodating up to 50 people at any one time they are also ideally suited to family reunions, wedding parties, hen parties, golfers, anglers, soccer players, business groups in fact any groups at all! The cottages are available all year round, 365 days a year, for full weeks, part weeks, mid week and weekend breaks.

In keeping with their traditional external appearance the cottages are traditionally decorated and furnished inside with hardwood floors throughout, beams, handmade pine furniture and open fires. They are also fully equipped with modern conveniences including dishwasher, washer/dryer, oven and microwave. The cottages are fully centrally heated and they also have an open fire, laid and just waiting to be lit. The thatched cottages have a bath and shower and the stone cottages have 3 showers.
All bedding and linen are supplied free of charge. Two of the houses are fully wheelchair accessible.

Outside the cottages there are flower beds and grass areas, with picnic tables to sit outside during the summer.
